Dispelling Error

My Response to anti-Duke sentiment everywhere. I must admit it openly, I am a Duke fan, and it is full-blown. I can't help; I was born that way. I am not one who hops on bandwagons, for I do remember all to well the year Duke didn't make the NCAA tourney (i guess it was only one year). My point today is to give light to a few erroneous assertions. (1) You should hate Duke because Coach K is a foul-mouthed man. Might I first of all point out, if you are looking a great coach with 'Christian character'...well, good luck. If you hate Duke because of Coach K's vulgarity, your reasoning is in error. (2) You should hate Duke because they are shown on TV too much. I don't think I remember too many Carolina games not being shown. By the way, Duke does happen to be one of the most popular teams in the country (as far as fans in every state). Coaches do tell their players, watch Duke, they do this well. My coach said this, and he is staunch UNC-only. Perenially good teams

I Have the Luckiest Friends

I have three fortunate friends in this picture. It probably won't be too hard to figure out who they are. Congrats guys! Your prediction came true! (Not that we're guilty of hero worship...haha)

Let Me Save You Some Trouble

I am in a missions class right now, and let's just say the book we are reading has some issues. It's called "What in the World is God Doing?" First of all, the author (C. Gordon Olson) basically misses the Great Commission. He's one of those "Go, Go, Go!!!" -type guys (er...I think the point is making disciples as you go) . Secondly, he says that the purpose in building the temple was for worldwide outreach. I don't think I'm seeing that in the text. This post is just to save you some trouble if you're looking for a good book on missions. At all costs, stay away from this one! Here's a picture of the book.

Joy Made Full

This post is coming late, for a few reasons, which will go unnamed. It was recently announced that the U.S. Men's National Team (Soccer) will be training at SAS stadium in Cary, NC, the month before this year's World Cup. Let's see, Cary would be (driving the speed limit) about 1 hour and 10 minutes from my house, and I have a friend that's 3 minutes from the stadium. Can you say "Cha-Ching!!!" You can access the article in its entirety here.

Win a Free Ipod! (This is for real)

I'm sure all have heard of the "free" things you can get online. There are some gimmicks, I know! This offer is through the Gratis! network, and it has been approved by the BBB (Better Business Bureau). I am in the process of trying to earn one. I am a poor college student just trying to keep up with technology. (haha) Help a brotha out! Seriously. You have to complete one offer. There are several offers which people would do anyway sometime in their life. For instance, there is an offer to join a CD club (Sony/BMG - now called Sound and Spirit). If you are looking to build your CD collection, this is a great way. I have also seen an offer for computer printer ink. All you had to do was buy one!
